Welcome to PGIE - Pretty Good Image Encryption.

Note 1:
This program requires the .NET Framework 4.0 be installed in order for it to run. If this is not installed
then the program will not run.

Note 2:
If you do not use the "Random Image Generator" tool as described in steps 1-3 below to create a key
file then the program will create one for you each time. If you do not mind this then skip steps 2-4.

Note 3:
If you loose or modify the key or the encoded file - even by a single pixel - then the data encode is one
way and will not be reversible.

Note 4:
Send the key file to the second party in a different E-mail to the encoded file, otherwise it would be a
simple matter for someone to decode it. If you created a random key file then you can send that once
and use that over and over.

TEXT-BASED ENCRYPTION

1. Open the programme.

TO CREATE A KEY FILE

2. When you first run the program click the "Tools" menu then click "Rangom Image Generator".
This will allow you to create a secure key file for the encryption.
(Please note that these key files can only be use for the text-based encryption and not for file encryptions).

It is advised that you set a size of 500 x 500px or more as this will ensure it can be used over many files.

3. Once you have selected the size file you want, click "Generate" - A dialogue opens so you can save the file to
a secure location. If you use this file and then loose it the data CANNOT be recovered!
(you can call the file anything you want).

4. Once saved click "OK" on the Random Image Generator" dialogue to close it.

5. Open the "Data Encode" tab.

6. Enter the name you wish to show in the "Author" field and the data that you wish to be encoded into the "Message" field.
(This could be a secret message, a link, anything you want as long as it is text-based).

7. If you created a key file as described in steps 2-4 then you may select and open it here. (otherwise go to step 9).

8 Click "Encode" and then click "OK" on the warning dialogue and then name and save the encrypted file.

9. Click "Encode" and then click "OK" Name and save the Key- file (an automatic Key-code will be created).

10. Name and save the encrypted file.
